What is CranioSacral Massage Therapy?

CranioSacral Massage Therapy focuses directly on the central nervous system. More specifically, on the self-healing mechanism that is controlled by this system. The body has the ability to fix anything that may go wrong with it. Sometimes this function is impeded. It needs to be jump started or rebooted so it can rev itself back up and fight for its survival.

One of the most important rhythms of the body is the flow of cerebral spinal fluid around the brain and spinal cord. This flow baths the central nervous system in rich, nutritional fluid. If this flow is hindered, things begin to systematically break down. CranioSacral therapy also looks at the connection between the sacrum and the cranium as one unit, tied together by the spinal column.

Any imbalance, resulting in limited or excessive movement of these two team members, means the meninges are in danger of being pinched or misshaped. This results in improper flow of cerebrospinal fluid.

Who benefits from CranioSacral Massage Therapy?

Craniosacral Massage Therapy is an effective treatment for

  • Migraine headaches
  • Stress and tension related problems
  • Traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries
  • Bite/jaw problems
  • Motor coordination difficulties
  • Central nervous system disorders
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Fibromyalgia

More ABout Myofascial Release Massage Therapy

What is Myofascial Release Therapy?

Myofascial release techniques consist of slow, gentle, prolonged force in the form of stretching or compression. Hands-on application of this treatment deeply affects tissue, without causing pain. It is also known as or called Connective Tissue Massage.

Fascia – pronounced ‘fasha’ – represents the soft tissue that connects and separates everything in the body beneath the skin. It provides a continuous sheath of support for the skeleton and soft tissues i.e. muscles, tendons etc. It also divides muscle groups into individual units.

Myofascial Release Therapy restores length and flexibility to the fascia. This makes more ‘space’ for muscles, nerves and fluids, like blood and lymph. This treatment is frequently used to correct problems caused after tissue injury.

Benefits of Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release (M.F.R.) works to free up tight fascia so muscles have freedom of movement.

It is the three-dimensional application of sustained, gentle pressure and movement into the fascial system.

Myofascial Release eliminates fascial restriction. This therapy facilitates the rise of emotional patterns and belief systems that may no longer be needed or are hampering progress to better health.

More ABout Trigger Point Massage Therapy

Trigger Point Massage Therapy focuses on hyper-sensitive areas in the muscles, fascia, tendons and ligaments. These sites frequently refer pain to other areas of the body.

Trigger Point Therapy explained

Trigger Point Therapy is a body work system aimed at reducing or erasing trigger points within muscles or tissues.

Trigger points are hyper-sensitive areas that, when compressed, are tender and are often related to referred pain. They are described as a small contraction knot in muscle tissue, affecting a muscle by keeping it both tight and weak, in fact trigger points maintain a hard contraction on the muscle fibers directly connected to it.

In turn, these taut bands of muscle fibers keep constant tension on the muscle attachments, often producing symptoms in adjacent joints and restricting circulation in the immediate area of the trigger point.

Benefits of Trigger Point Therapy

Benefits of a Trigger Point Therapy treatment at The Gray Natural Health Centre include:

  • Decrease in pain and discomfort
  • Reduction in the number of headaches
  • Increased range of motion
  • Improved flexibility
  • Increased blood flow

Cost and Duration

Trigger Point 60 Mins – $120

In this session you will experience the use of pressure applied to the muscle groups that are tight or constricted. The therapist will pinpoint the muscle knots and apply sustained pressure in order to release the knots in the muscle groups that lead to dysfunction.

Trigger Point 90 Mins – $170

After completing your trigger point release this session will finish with some relaxation massage to soothe the stress away.

TESTIMONIALS

Hear from our clients

“Clint came out to my mom’s house to assist my mom who was experiencing chronic headache, neck tension, body aches and pains for around 6 months.

He performed a combination of myofascial release and craniosacral balancing and in just 1 hour, my mom felt like a new person. She regained complete 180 neck mobility and felt lighter and freer in her head.

She was absolutely shocked and delighted as was I. Clint was extremely professional, sensitive and respectful and created a warm and relaxing atmosphere.

I am so grateful to you Clint for giving my mom back her health and I am so privileged to have you in my network of peers.”

– Amira Romanowski

“I tend to be picky about the expertise of manual therapists that I go to see and Clint is by far the best masseusse I have ever been to. He is compassionate and caring with a wealth of knowledge about the body, and an intuitive touch to match.

He always makes sure that you feel comfortable and safe so that you can fully relax and unwind in the session.

I enjoy a firm pressure with massage, and I’m never disappointed, though he has a more sensitive touch with the craniosacral and myofascial release which works wonders for releasing trauma from the body.

Clint has such a wonderful energy, smile and outlook on life and I always look forward to my sessions with him. I recommend him to all my family and friends! <3″

– Erin Nota

“I have known Clint for a couple of years now and I wouldn’t trust my body to anyone else, as an amateur athlete and personal trainer, being able to function at a high level of performance is an absolute must, part of that process involves quality recovery, Clint’s treatments are thorough, effective and should be part of everyone’s routine, young, old, athlete, weekend warrior or corporate warrior.

Clint is respectful, highly professional, easy to talk to, and has a great sense of humour (something important to me!) I cannot recommend Clint highly enough!”

– Isla Staff

“I have a frozen shoulder and the pain has been bad, I could barely function. I have had a frozen shoulder (the other side) before and know that very few treatments help. I tried acupuncture and chiro, both did not help with the pain or range of movement.

After one trigger point session with Clint I was pain free for three days, I felt so relieved. A week later I went back for another session and I have been pain free ever since. He is honest, professional and very modest, he under promises and over delivers, he will not waste your time or money.

If you have a frozen shoulder give him a go! I live in Fremantle so it takes me an hour to get to his practice, but it is worth it. A very grateful client.”

– Gitte Heij

“Seeing Clinton for my migraines and he uses a technique called myofascial release, a new experience for me. I felt wonderful after the treatment and look forward to many more treatments and would recommend it to all migraine sufferers. Friendly professional service and lets you choose whatever music you want playing in the background.”
